Ubuntu and virtualbox

Asked by Graham Labdon

Hello
I am completely new to Linux so please forgive my ignorance
I have VirtualBox installed on my windows machine and now want to install ubuntu on it.
So I created a new virtual machine and now I need to obtain the 'setup program for the operating system to be installed'

Please can someone tell me what I need to download.

I have downloaded the ubuntu-10.10-desktop-i386.iso from http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download
Then I attempt to create a USB drive using the Universal-USB_Installer-1.8.0.6.exe downloaded from http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/
When I run this I am to locate the 'iso file'. But this does not appear to exist in the files from the previous step.

Please Help!!!

TIA

Graham

if you want to install Ubuntu on VirtualBox Machine:
read a manual:

or

The solution is more easy than USB key.
Simply declare ISO file as CD media in VirtualBox, and mount it in virtual CD drive.
Set virtual machine to boot first to CD drive, and install like from a CD drive.
That's all.
