May we please have VirtualBox-OSE 3.2.10 be made available?

Asked by penalvch

One notices that Oracle made VirtualBox (3.2.10) available on October 11 via http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads

Many are currently using 3.2.8 OSE and would like to give the newest version a test drive.

May we please have VirtualBox-OSE 3.2.10 be made available?

if you want a virtualbox to test try the ppa version just add to software sources , and reload
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/debfx/virtualbox/ubuntu maverick main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/debfx/virtualbox/ubuntu maverick main

GREG T., thank you for responding to my question. While this was a constructive suggestion, 3.2.10 is not available in the PPA source space. This question is still outstanding.

Has 3.2.10

What is so different that you REALLY need the newer version?

sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian maverick non-free"; wget -q http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian/oracle_vbox.asc -O- | sudo apt-key add -; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade

Should install the new one if you have it installed, or you can run:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install virtualbox-3.2

And get it installed.

You should log a bug stating that the new version fixes a LOT and the version will be moved to the official repos.

After reviewing the information provided by both actionparsnip & GREG T. it seems apparent a few choices exist:

1) install the pre-made PUEL .deb from Oracle's website
2) compile 3.2.10 OSE from source (optionally making a .deb available via PPA for others)
3) create a bug noting how it fixes many outstanding problems and should be moved into the official repos

This question is answered. Thank you for your help.
