how can i share system drives with virtualbox?

I have installed XP in sun virtualbox. I want to access hardrive partitions (ofcourse NTFS) which is mounted in ubuntu Lucid.

There are 2 ways to do this. You can share the folders using SAMBA then configure the virtual system to have a bridged connection. It will appear as a physical system on the LAN and will even show in your routers DHCP client list. You can then access the shares normally.

There is also the feature within virtualbox and will give the guest the option to mount the share. Here is a guide:

Your choice, both work fine. If you already share folders with SAMBA then the top option will allow you to access the shares with minimal config. The second way is more graceful as it keeps the communication all local.
