install 10.04 server in virtualbox-ose

Asked by Imre Horvath

Hi!

I've tried to install 10.04 server 64bit in vbox.
I've choosed the language, but when I select install ubuntu from menu, it hangs with blank screen
The host os is Fedora13 64bit, with VirtualBox-ose 3.2.6.
I've also tried noacpi, nomodeset etc, but still no luck...

Thanks in advance:
Imre Horvath

Please BE SURE you have verified the md5sum of your Ubuntu 10.04 server 64bit

http://releases.ubuntu.com/lucid/

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM

Then please also refer to http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Community or to Fedora forum http://forums.fedoraforum.org/

Checksums are OK, I've got the same issue with 10.04 desktop 64bit too...
I think it's some driver related problem, maybe vbox videocard or something.
I've got the blank screen in 80x25, and the cursor isn't blinking.

I've got it: It's a bug in VirtualBox for fedora13. I'm waiting for the update..
Now I've installed the rpm downloaded from oracle, it works perfectly.
