Please start from basics and give procedure for establishing connection.
How do I determine my IP address?
How do I determine the address for the remote machine I wish to engage?
Where do I put this information ?

your IP address can be gained using:

ifconfig

The remote IP you will have to know, or attend the system physically to get the address. rdesktop is ONLY for connecting to windows servers allowing the connections.

Can you help with this problem?
