upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10 bookmark migration

Asked by Mike Smith - dominoconsultant

Hi,

I have upgraded from desktop 8.04 to 8.10 in a dual-boot configuration and have used the option to migrate my previous "profile" settings across. That didn't work which is a bitch but I'll learn to live with it ;-)

My question is: I have access to my old installation and can browse the file system but I can't find out where the bookmarks file is so I can manually bring it over to the new installation.

If I only had a couple of bookmarks I wouldn't bother, but I'm a sysadmin and I've got quite a few bookmarks.

All configuration is inside your personal home directory in hidden . directories.
The best solution for this is to browse to your old home directory (/home/USERNAME), press [CTRL]+[H] and copy over your .mozilla file.

BUT keep in mind that you will then erase your current mozilla settings so perhaps, putting the 2 dirs and their files together will be needed.

If you have any more questions about this issue, go ahead and ask me.

Can you help with this problem?
