My laptop screen is broken i'm trying to connect...

laptop has broken screen and i am trying to connect it to my other laptop to pull info off of it

I have two laptops both with ubuntu 10.04 and one has a broken screen and so I connected both of them together but can not figure out if I can view the broken screen one on the one that isn't broken or if its even possible to do that as I probably have to get onto that laptop check the box to allow others to view desktop. Is it possible??

Why do you not have the data backed up......

You may be able to connect a monitor then use the shortcut on the keyboard (assuming one exists) to switch the output to the extermal monitor
