vi terminal is not working properly

hiii this is brajesh i m a new user to use ubuntu i have faced many of problems regarding vi terminal
in vi terminal when i type any letter but there is not working key like backspace arrow key like that
so please solve my problem

To insert text in vi editor we press i. There are whole list of commands through which we insert, edit or delete text. You can learn about theses command here..
