Authentication while accessing windows drives

Asked by Arindam

After installing ubuntu 9.10 for the first time when I try to access my windows drive it is asking for password. I have not noticed this in 9.04. How can I permanently save the password? Alternately how can I make my windows drives also auto mount on startup?
Thanks in advance!!

I followed the steps mentioned in the link and installed "ntfs-config" package.

Now, I was not able to find it going to Applications->System Tools. I think this path needs to be corrected.
I launched it using the command gksudo ntfs-config.

Though I have three internal NTFS partition, the check box for "Enable write support for internal device" was not enabled. Hence my NTFS partition was not configured for auto mount.

Any thing else?
Thanks!!
