unable to mount udf volume superblock ubuntu 13.04

Asked by Luke Reynolds

I'm sorry if this has already been answred, I couldn't find it. I made two dvds (dvdr) of pictures before I deleted windows 7 forever and ever. Then I installed Ubuntu 13.04, one dvd loaded fine and I copied the pics. The other says this:

Error mounting /dev/sr0 at /media/luke/UDF Volume: Command-line `mount -t "udf" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=1000,gid=1000,iocharset=utf8,umask=0077" "/dev/sr0" "/media/luke/UDF Volume"' exited with non-zero exit status 32: mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: /dev/sr0: can't read superblock

I see this was a common problem a few years ago, so I don't think it's a damaged dvd but I cant seem to find any info.

I have read I need to find a WINDOWS computer, run and copy the disc onto a flash drive, then load it onto my computer. This is fine, but I would like some confirmation of this working before I do all that. As I have also read of windows written flash drives not loading in linux. Thanks if you know anything.

Raring is no longer supported in any way. I suggest you upgrade to a supported release
