Recovery problems

Asked by richtalia on 2013-02-22

When choosing "Recovery" at start-up, no matter which option I choose, it partially runs, then freezes up. Any idea on how to fix this ??? Thanks !!! (Am running ubuntu 12.04 LTS)

I suggest you test your RAM using memtest86 from Grub

memtest86 said: no problem. Please advise what should I do next ? How about some sort of "repair" ??? Many Thanks !!!

What are you wanting to repair exactly?

Recovery at startup does not function. (Freezes).

What video chip do you use?

It is a gateway m285e laptop computer.

Seems to be an ATi x1400. Try the boot option:

radeon.nomodeset=1
