Do you have a Live media of Ubuntu ? (e.g CD/DVD/USB) , boot from there and take all of your important files to an external Hard Drive or Usb stick .

Thanks

When you say

i have mounted ubuntu in that drive, and i am not able to see the drive now

What do you mean exactly?

If you have installed Ubuntu and used that drive as the install location then the files will not be there any more. Ubuntu will have wiped the drive to install its self onto.

If you have not installed ubuntu over the top of the drive you want the files from then we should be able to help.

boot from Live media, open a terminal by pressing CTRL, ALT and T and give us the output of the following commands

---------------------------------
sudo fdisk -l; mount | grep ^'/dev'

Can you help with this problem?
