Ubuntu with Android

I have Android 4.0 Sony Xperia Miro phone. When i connect this with my Ubuntu 12.04 LTS system, nothing happens. Is there any way to interface them???

Please try this from terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/unstable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install go-mtpfs

sudo apt-get install go-mtpfs-unity

Then please restart Ubuntu and connect your android device...
