fstab cifs mount fails since update today on 12.04.1

cifs mounts in fstab no longer connect after updating today to 3.2.0-34-generic-pae today.

The update was performed normally through software manager and no errors were reported.

Has something changed that we need to know about?

It's working now after two reboots.
