what is the path to open a doc on a cd rom

thanks for your responce, i still don't have the answer to my question. Question:How do i open a document in word format from cd? ive placed the CD in the rom drive and no reponce. I've tryied to open it in doc. veiwer, meadia auto-run.

Could you try to be a little more specific about your problem?

From what I can make out of your post, you are trying to open a document from a CD. Which type of document is it?

And what makes you unable to open it? Can`t you find it, or do you get an error?

Use the file manger the CD will be in the /media directory.

If its a file type recognised by Ubuntu double clicking the file should open it in the correct viewer or editor.

If not we need to know

1. What the file is called

2. What type of document it is if known, e.g. What created it.

3. Open a terminal (CTRL+ALT+T) and give us the output of the following command

lsb_release -a; uname -a

Can you also have the data CD and run:

mount

add that to your output.
