connecting Samsung Galaxie 5.0 mp3 player using usb?

Samsung Galaxie Player 5.0 isn't recognized using Ubuntu 12.4 LTS. This is a 5" tablet I pod Touch competitor using Android 2. When plugged in to USB, I get nothing (unlike my Sansa Clip+ which is recognized). I'd like to be able to upload from the device to my Linux box (I don't use Windows or Mac). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...
