How can I recover a deleted folder?

Asked by John Henson

I have inadvertantly deleted a Folder when trying to send said folder to the Rubbish bin for a temp holding spot, and without clearly understanding the situation, totaly deleted same.

What steps can be taken to recover the folder?

Thank You

use your backups will be by far the best way.

you may find foremost ran in live cd may find it but you will need a partition of equal size to the partition you are working with in order to attempt data recovery. If the data area has already been reused by the system for new files then the folder will be partially or wholly unrecoverable

Thanks for the help, am new to Ubuntu, and am still trying to get my head around backup recovery. I have found the intact file, and having FUN fiddling with it ... Again, Thank You, and if I can NOT solve the issue, will get back to you ...
