How do I see the capacity of the HDD running Ubuntu 11.10

Asked by jeff lenard

The former OS, Windows Vista, has the function "My Computer" with which one can open the HDD and see the total memory, memory used and memory remaining. How do I get to this HDD function with Ubuntu 11.1?
