my 11.04 does not recognise floppy drive

I installed the latest Ububtu distro (11.04 ) and find that my floppy drive id not recognised... Fedora does....So I'm sure it works OK...what can I do?

Telling me it is obsolete doesn't answer my question... The install disk
should wake it.up

One person in that forum thread opined that floppies are obsolete, but that's not the entirety of the forum thread. Did you look at any of the other suggestions? (Like the post *before* that...)

there is a thread on launchpad on this. do a search for udisk. it seems that you need to roll it back to a previous version if you want floppy to work.
