I can't mount any USB drives

Asked by Cisco Yanes

Error mounting: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdc,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
       dmesg | tail or so

I went to the terminal and performed dmesg / tail. It said that the drive did not have ready and write permission only read permission. What does this mean and how do I fix it. Also, why can't it mount the drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Looks like you tried to mount a disk (sda) instead of a partition (sda1). You can only mount partitions. Look at the manual pages for mount:
man mount

Can you help with this problem?
