I'm trying to attach a document from my 3.5 floppy to my e-mail but I can figure out how to find my floppy It dosen't come up when I try to attach it.

Unfortunately ubuntu currently has problematic support for floppies. You can find lots of info here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/441835

The short answer is to open a terminal, and then type
udisks --mount /dev/fd0

This should make it work, I believe.
