my dvdrw or cdrw drives wont work

when i open my computer file i see both cdrw and dvdrw but when i put disk into either drive they vanish from the file and dont read disks here is my configuration for my computer

ok we have:

                logical name: /dev/cdrom1
                logical name: /dev/cdrw1
                logical name: /dev/scd0
                logical name: /dev/sr0

and
                logical name: /dev/cdrom
                logical name: /dev/cdrw
                logical name: /dev/dvd
                logical name: /dev/dvdrw
                logical name: /dev/scd1

If you run:

sudo mkdir /media/cdrom0; sudo mkdir /media/cdrom1; gksudo gedit /etc/fstab

Then add these 2 lines:

/dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto,exec,utf8 0 0
/dev/scd1 /media/cdrom1 udf,iso9660 user,noauto,exec,utf8 0 0

Save the new file and reboot, should be ok

i ran sudo mkdir /media/cdrom0; sudo mkdir /media/cdrom1; gksudo gedit /etc/fstabThen add these 2 lines:

/dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto,exec,utf8 0 0
/dev/scd1 /media/cdrom1 udf,iso9660 user,noauto,exec,utf8 0 0
and it showed that there was a disk in the dvd drive but when i tried to open it this error came up:
Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 1: helper failed with:
[mntent]: line 2 in /etc/fstab is bad
[mntent]: line 3 in /etc/fstab is bad
mount: can't find /dev/sr1 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

im going to see if they will read a blank cd or dvd

both the cdrw drive and the dvdrw drive will read a cdrw and show that they are blank but if i put a blank dvd in the dvdrw it wont read it at all
