I was having the same issue, but I wanted to let you all know how I fixed it. I hope that this will fix your issue as well. I had a defective USB hub plugged into my computer, which caused Ubuntu to display the "unable to enumerate" error. You all might want to check for defective USB devices.

Plug device on another USB port and try again. Looks more like hardware issue.
Try also command "lsusb", but I'm not optimistic.

The problem was generated by a defective Usb Cable!
