Can ubuntu run itunes, and if not how can I update and synchronise my iphone?

Asked by mark dancy

I have a brand new tosh netbook and would like to install ubuntu as sole OS on my only computer. I am worried that I would have problems with keeping my iphone updated and synchronised if it will not run itunes. I would also be interested to know in general what ubuntu will not do that a PC can?
Many thanks.

Ubuntu cannot run itunes -- apple does not release this software for linux, nor do they publish the specifications for their devices.

PC means "Personal Computer", and can vaguely be interpeted as referring to the hardware. That is Ubuntu runs on PCs (and macs too).
