Open files with autorun

Asked by tim gudgion

I am just trying linux ubuntu for the first time. I have been trying to add drivers for my camera and cine camera from their CDs but each one fails to run when I try to open with auto run. The message I get is "Cannot find autorun program". If I try opening the exe file I get "An error occurred while loading the archive". I have installed wine as I thought that might be the problem but that has not helped.

The app you have is for Windows. Ubuntu is not Windows, it is a distribution of Linux so is of no value to you.

Reboot the system and login and run:

lsusb

Then attach the device and power it on, wait 10 seconds and run:

echo; lsusb; dmesg | tail

Copy all the output and paste the output here

Thanks

what actionparsnip is trying to say to you is that the drivers needed to operate your camera may already be installed in ubuntu.

Can you help with this problem?
