mp3 player not recognized by 10.04 LTS

Asked by Harold Walley

I have a SANZA FUZE mp3 player. My desktop running 10.04 LTS does not automatically detect the player after the USB connection is made (should bring up a file browser). Rythmbox does detect the player but I am not able to see the files I created on the player using Ubuntu 9.0?
I would like to see the SANZA (as well as the micro SD card inserted in the player) as a mass storage drive, similar to a USB flash drive.
Ubuntu 9 worked fine with this player, it appears that the software supporting this player was not included in Ubuntu 10?

Yes, switching the SANZA FUZE "System Settings - USB Mode - from AutoDetect to MSC" allowed Ubuntu to discover the MP3 player (both the Player's internal memory and inserted Micro SD card). Rythmbox was then able to see all of the files on the SANZA FUZE.
Thanks.
