Sansa Clip+ not recognised on Ubu 10.10

Asked by David Sprung

My Sansa Clip+ is recognised by Rhythmbox, but not in the file system. How does one enter hardware using 10.10?

I'm using openSuSE 11.3 with the 40 gb HD and Ubuntu 10.10 on the 160 gb.
Whenever attempting to mount the device using openSuSE, there's no problem it recognising the Sansa Clip+ as a MSD. However, when attempting to open Rhythmbox or Banshee with the device attached, both programs crash. The funny thing is that when I open the music folder, it shows nothing there...even though it's chocked full of files(?).

With Ubuntu, I can open Rhythmbox, and it will recognise the devise and all of the files added...after about 1 minute wait time (seems to be a load on the system). When mounted I can't find the device without Rhythmbox.
