permission to file

i installed ubuntu10.10 in windows7 in c-drive .,.,now i want to mark some files as executable file that is in other drive which is mounted by windows7 as NTFS,.,.,.,but when i try to tick mark any executable file automatically it gets undone,.,.,.even when i check the permission(properties) of that drive it shows permission of this drive cannot be determined..,.,..,.,.,but the files that r in home directory of ubuntu has no problem.,.,..,., so how can i mark files in other directory as executable ,.,,.,.,

NTFS does not support permissions in this manner, and so this cannot be done. Use a filesystem that supports executable permissions.

If you are trying to run programs under wine, you don't need to mark them as executable, you can just use "wine nameofprogram.exe"

Its not a drive, its a partition. Can you give the output of:

mount
