ummmm...i don't think that is the correct way to mount a floppy.

are you familiar with how to use the gnome desktop?

1) click on System the Users & Groups
2) change your access to Custom
3) enable access to floppy drive
4) make SURE you INSERT a floppy into the drive, or it will say "no media"

Try from terminal this command:

sudo udisks --mount /dev/sdb

give your user password when requested.

To get manual page type:

man udisks

udisk --mount device_file [--mount-fstype fstype] [--mount-options options]
Mounts the device represented by device_file using the file system
fstype and a comma-separated list of options.

Can you help with this problem?
