Asked by beneedict

I have used s2ram on my laptop in feisty since it was the only chance to put my laptop to S3 (fglrx drivers...). Will there be s2ram in final gutsy? please....

Hi:

I think this will solve your question:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/gutsy/utils/uswsusp
I guess it will be in gutsy, and the version will be 0.6 compared to 0.3 in feisty

Putting your system into S3 state is suspend to disk, which is s2disk, not s2ram. And for the record, no, s2ram will not be integrated again, because the Ubuntu devs don't like it, and don't like users using it, even if that's the only way your system can suspend. The reason they gave is that they want bugs to be reported so that the official method can be fixed. A short term solution is not feasible for them it seems.

Can you help with this problem?
