usb-modeswitch in lubuntu 12.04

Any reason why usb-modeswitch and usb-modeswitchdata are not included in the ISO image of lubuntu 12.04?
It is not possible to use USB broadband modems without above mentioned packages, or am I wrong?

I suggest you report a bug. Precise is not ready and not stable.
