startup message

Asked by Miro Glavić

At startup I get the following message:
"INIT: UREADAHEAD MAIN PROCESS (294) TERMINATED WITH STATUS 5"
Can someone tell me what does this mean, please?
I am using Ubuntu 10.04 upgrade from 9.10 and have never seen this kind of message before.
Thank you.

Beautiful. This is a bug that will not be resolved until next October (hopefully). What do we do in the meantime? I guess sit back and hope for the best, just like we do with so many other problems that we encounter. I guess it's free, so what do you expect.

Just tested kernels 2.6.32-22 and 2.6.32-23 and both of these is functioning just fine (no ureadahead messages) while kernel 2.6.34.999 is still malfunctioning.
Maybe someone can isolate the problem within this particular kernel and fix it.
