There wouldn't be a way to fix this using wine... it's gotta be fixed in the kernel.
Disabling the lid switch completely would be an option. I would try to Google it. I did a quick Google, but couldn't find anything too helpful (just a patch for compiling your own kernel without the support). As a first step you can find the path to the lid switch in /sys/ using "dmesg | grep Lid".
