Update help i get this error on old kernels linux-image

Asked by Hellminer

Every time I get install updates from ubuntu concerning firefox, or upgrades to my firefox preferred look (gradient - icool) I get the following errors:

E: linux-image-2.6.24-24-generic: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2
E: linux-image-2.6.24-25-generic: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2

Also, I'm a hulu watcher, and it keeps telling me I need to get the new adobe viewer updated. I did so, and yet hulu keeps telling me I need to get it (I installed the .deb version of it).

And finally, (sigh, I know, soo many issues!), why can I not watch my hulu stuff full screen? It brings it up for a second then reverts back to small mode

Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!

I don't have ubuntu live cd. I had it installed when I bought the pc (back in the days of ubuntu 7.04 or what have you). So do I need to go to the ubuntu website and install a new version then? If so, what version?

I suggest you to download using ubuntu the ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386.iso from here use torrent protocol form here http://torrent.ubuntu.com:6969/

Look for ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386.iso click on the link and select open with transmission or with yuor preferred torrent client.

Wait the end of download...

Then check the md5sum https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM of the already downloaded iso
compare with the MD5SUMS you will find here: http://releases.ubuntu.com/karmic/ and if it is wrong download the iso file again.

Then burn it, be sure to burn the cd at lower speed you can do and with the data verify active:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto

In Ubuntu use brasero or k3b (you need to install it)
