repositories 9.10 karmic problem
hello to all.i have a problem with my sources.list when i run etc/apt/
in my software sources- other software, i have these repositories enabled:
http://
http://
http://
http://
http://
when i update i , in terminal i see many "fail" and "hit" in packages status tab.
I want to ask why i don t get the sources.list and also if i have all the default and correct repositories. (because i remember some repositories with "restricted" or "main" at the end. for example: http://
shouldnt i have those too?)
Thanks

karmic-proposed isn't recommended, unless you know how to fix conflicts.
Could be you've already downloaded some proposed which causes the issue.
However, please post the output of:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
Unchanged default sources.list (main server):

If you like copy&paste the above (default) sources.list. You may add any time later what is missing for your special needs.
For the moment it should do to just update the system with a 'clean' sources.list.
Make sure not to run more than one update manager, e.g. Synaptic and terminal together.
You may also disable 'proposed' in system administration -> repositories
Rename current sources.list:
sudo mv /etc/apt/
Create a new sources.list:
gksudo gedit /etc/apt/
When finished update as before.

Hey sam i did as you told and run those commands. The gedit sources.list document came out empty. In "software sources- ubuntu software" everything was uncheked. In repositiries i had only this : http://
I added these ones with "deb" infront, otherwise it wouldn t take them.(i dont know if thats right)
ftp://ftp.
ftp://ftp.
ftp://ftp.
ftp://ftp.
ftp://ftp.
Will i get all the "main" updates with these you think?
