Ubuntu 9.10 is a Beta (Preview) release. It is still under heavy development and will be until the official release in about two weeks.
From the number of the updates you can get an impression how much work is done.
With these update you will also a full final version on your computer the day is released.

BTW: To free some space you can run "sudo apt-get clean" to remove the old download archives after installation.

Nothing wrong. 9.10 is not yet released. So it's normal to get that many updates until official release.

sudo apt-get clean did not find any thing .after doing updates i restart my pc then run computer janitor some times it will find things to be removed but most of the it don`t . so receiving so many updates is a good thing..

You will get anywhere around 200Mb updates a day. The packages are being tested and tweaked and then released, people then publish bugs on the new version and it is tweaked again and re-released. This will happen regularly until the release day itself when those who did not want beta software on their systems will upgrade to the rc and a whole bunch or bug reports will be made and even more changes will be made.
You will get this every time you install a beta of any linux distro. It is normal.
