Package error

I keep getting this error with my update manager and i cant seem to figure out how to get around it.

Could not initialize the package information

An unresolvable problem occurred while initializing the package information.

Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message:

'E:Type '--2009-06-18' is not known on line 1 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list, E:The list of sources could not be read.'

Can anyone help please?

Hi. can you write the contents of "/etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list" ?

Please copy paste your sources.list.d here.
that is: nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d
      or: gedit /etc/apt/sources/list.d
There is a faillure in the medibuntu repos. "line".
or : nano /etc/apt/sources.list

Open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list

copy and paste the file content here. You need to dress the line with the date in it.

Here my /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list content...

deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ jaunty free non-free
deb-src http://packages.medibuntu.org/ jaunty free non-free

Modify your file save and exit.

Then still using a terminal type:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
