update-manager install disactivated

Asked by jpe

If update-manager presents several things to install and I do not want to install the first thing by unticking that line then the "install" button does not get active.

ubuntu xenial version 16.04.13

I cannot verify this. Just tried on my own system, and the "install" button is only inactive, if I have disabled ALL updates.

Can you make a screen shot of such situation and upload it to some image hosting service for public access and post the like to it?

There is a new feature in update-manager, that obsolete versions of the kernel packages can be removed with this program.

Read the headings! Only the top entry is a program update, the rest are kernel packages to be removed.

You are right, this seems to be a bug in the program, that you cannot uninstall old kernel packages unless you update another program.

I suggest that you create a bug report. Attach your screenshot as evidence.

Can you help with this problem?
