Update Error

Could someone please help me with this error - it happens everytime I do an update

W: A error occurred during the signature verification. The repository is not updated and the previous index files will be used.GPG error: http://nz.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid-updates Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG 40976EAF437D05B5 Ubuntu Archive Automatic Signing Key <email address hidden>

W: Failed to fetch http://nz.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/intrepid-updates/Release

W: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

That should fix it.

Alternatively, use another method of choice to add the signature to your allowed apt key. Or switch to a different repository (i.e. us a diferent ubuntu source mirror) if you don't trust the one you're currently using or if you don't live on this little paradise island near australia ;). That's also described in the link (or edit your /etc/apt/sources.list - and make a backup of it before touching it).

thanks for that got it sorted. Are you perhaps referring to NZ as the little paradise island near australia? If you are, it's heaven compared to south africa.
