When updating using the update manager I get this error message:

I'm fairly new to ubuntu and tried to find answers in the FAQ's but nothing has worked.
By the way I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 build

I've had a look at http://blognux.free.fr/ubuntu/dists/hardy/ and it looks like the directory structure has changed since you added these repositories. If you edit /etc/apt/sources.list (using sudo) and prefix each line that produces an error with a #, and then run the command again you should be fine.

So for example, if I was wanting to ignore a repository in my list I would change

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/gwibber-team/ppa/ubuntu intrepid main

to

#deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/gwibber-team/ppa/ubuntu intrepid main

Which would then ignore that set of packages.

What packages were you using this repository to install? It may be that they exist somewhere else that is still working.

Regards,

Andy
