Windows keyboard-key Menu

There's a key on my keyboard that has a Windows logo. In Windows it's great for pulling up the "Start"-button-menu for when i want to shutdown Windows. Is it possible to make it drop-down the Applications-menu in Ubuntu? Also if i paint an Ubuntu logo over it are M$ likely to break my door down and arrest me?
