problem installing updates

I just installed Ubuntu Christian Edition, it says i have 195 updates, but i try to install but it shows this message

W: Failed to fetch http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/t/tar/tar_1.15.91-2ubuntu0.3_i386.deb
  404 Not Found

before i say install, it shows a message that says "you about to install software that cant be authenticated, and if i say apply its not installing updates

please help

ubuntu christian edition is not created by canonical and is not supported and we can't predict what kind of things they may be done to the base ubuntu setup to cause this,
personally i would try running 'sudo apt-get update' and then 'sudo apt-get upgrade' in a terminal (terminal is found in Applications menu -> Accessories -> Terminal)

if that does not work i would consider installing the offical version of ubuntu
