Ubuntu 8.10 download

Asked by Henry Peters

I downloaded the update tool/s for Ubuntu 8.10 this morning... then "it" asked if I wanted to continue & do the upgrade, etc. (once started, can't stop). "It" made claims that 1,000 + MB, would, at my current download speed, take approximately 28 minutes... Is this possible? as my DIAL-UP download speed is (if lucky) no more than 56 k!

Thanks,
Henry

First i strongly suggest you to keep your Ubuntu 8.04.1 release installed is a Long Term Release and you don't have to play with huge amount of packages to download...

I think something is wrong with update manager average time speed based calculation, might be it consider some cached package into your packages cache.

So please consider to fill a bug...

Thank you
