Package Manager Error...

Asked by Blaise

I keep getting errors when I try to open package manager or update (auto and from terminal)

E: Problem parsing dependency Depends
E: Error occurred while processing btnx (NewVersion1)
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/repoubuntusoftware.info_dists_harty_all_binary-i386_Packages
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

Can anyone help, I have no clue what's wrong, it just happened.

Thanks

I think you should disable repoubuntusoftware.info repository through System --> Administration Software Sources --> Third Party Software. and then come back and tell us how is going

Thanks, I should have thought of that, all better, What is that repo? I have not made changes in there recently, did it expire or something?

Blaise sometimes repositories gives us a headache.

This happens when one repositorie isn't working as expected and it's giving to Synaptic a list of packages that are outdated.
