upgrade tool chrashed

Binary package hint: update-manager

Version: Kubuntu 7.10 -- new install. Updated packages. Offered a Distro upgrade to V. 8.xx, started upgrade process, came up with crash and the info in /var/log/dist-upgrade
(main.log is attached)

Thanks for your bugreport.

Please open a terminal (e.g. konsole) and run:
$ sudo dpkg --configure -a

I'm converting this to a question because we have a bug about this already.

Please open a Terminal and type:

sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo apt-get --fix-missing install
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get autoremove

then please reboot your system, type

sudo reboot

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.
