how to see update-managers last run date

Asked by MikeR on 2016-05-17

Activating update-manager GUI from the Applications menu (under GNOME) it would be helpful if I could see the last previous run date/time (esp. if I'm on a friend's computer)
Is there any (supported) way of seeing this?
Would it be possible to add it to the GUI?
Is there a CLI command?

You should be able to see the last update activities in one of the log files

/var/log/apt/term.log
/var/log/apt/history.log
/var/log/dpkg.log
