i can't updates ubuntu E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

Dogan, type "sudo dpkg --configure -a" in terminal and post the result here.

The very latest version of update-manager in hardy (8.04) can deal with that automatically. The version in 7.10 requires to run the commands that Max Schukin posted.
