Update Manager started updating then got stuck

Asked by Margaret Mackintosh

The update manager started to update 17 files about Adobe Flash Player, Thunderbird and Gnome. It had got 3/4 finished when it started just sitting there. That was a half hour ago. It is stuck on the Adobe Flash Player Plugin Installer... What ever it is doing won't let me work online. I now do not have a Flash Player installed. I downloaded Flash Player 11 for Linux but guess it is not installed as I still cannot do things online. I cannot Cancel the updating or close the update window. Any suggestions? I have Ubuntu 12.04 LTS...

Hi Margaret Mackintosh ,

combining this question with your other question here: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/224337
probably you have some problem with your network , or something similar.

See if you reboot your modem/router help this situation.

If you reboot and run:

sudo apt-get update; lsb_release -a; uname -a

What is the output?

Thanks

All is fine now. Took several hours but finally finished updating. Also no problem getting on Launchpad now either.
