How do I uninstall the new Ubuntu upgrade

Asked by dave

I have had nothing but trouble with the new Ubuntu install. Is there a way to uninstall this program and go back to the old one ?

Do you mean you upgraded from Precise to Quantal. The question is not clear at all.

The only way to go back is a clean install, making sure you have backed up first. This may not be possible if the old version is no-longer supported.

What have you upgraded from and to?

How did you upgrade: Update Manger or from CD/DVD/USBStick?

What are the problems?

Depending on what your system is it may be that Xubuntu or Lubuntu would be a better choice particularly if you are using older, less powerful hardware.

I've to agree with @Warren Hill. Backup your important data and do a fresh installation of Ubuntu. (version that you want).

This is the only way to revert back to the older release of Ubuntu.

Thanks
