Asked by Navin Talati

Ubuntu 12.04 is Upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10
The system was restarted. and the GRUB / Option screen seen as under:
(GNU GRUB Version 2.00-7ubuntu11)
Booting/Loading Options are as follows
Ubuntu
Advance Options for Ubuntu
Memory Test (memetest86+)
Memory Test (memetest86+) Serial console 115200
Win.7
Win XP
Then the login screen comes through "Ubuntu" selection and shows Ubunty 12.10.
It shows following Login's Options for following:
USER'S NAME
GUEST SESSION
REMOTE LOGIN
Out of these, the last one "REMOTE LOGIN" some times appears and somes time not - WHY SO ?
Please reply and guide me to understand the cause of it.
Thanks in anticipation.

Is it so that it comes/displays on ly after network links up?
I can see the virticle reverse arrow-couple symbol of network (Auto Etho) connection at the top right on the screen and yet the "Remote Login" does not appear.
Please comment and gide further.

I verified 2- 3 times and observed that if the connection is established then "Remote Login" appears.
Am I right ?
